In Memory

Deborah Palmer (Schober)

Deborah Palmer (Schober) died in Cincinnati on June 7, 1992.

Debbie was a good friend at Oberlin and I remember her as a kind, gentle person. She was a German major and spent a semester in Germany, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She became a translator (German to English) for computer programs. We remained in touch for a while after graduation, but eventually lost contact. We reconnected at our 20th reunion and we spent quite a bit of time together. I enjoyed meeting her lovely husband, George, and her son, Peter, who was about 8 years old at the time. I was truly shocked and saddened when I learned of her death in 1992 from heart failure, which I believe was a complication of diabetes. (Submitted by Roberta Leinwand Opper)
