Government major, deceased 2010.
Guy Martin was one of the few people in our class who was seriously "cool". He had a laconic sense of humor and was wise beyond his years. I was proud to call him my friend. I miss him. — Sal Barbatano

I remember Guy as a member of the football team, we as Freshman. Lived in 3South Barrows and pretty much togethher or close all four years. His death hit hard; a good friend and better person. Democratic Party politics, the banjo, and JTS Brown whisky. Those things I'll remember of him.

Thank you Sal for your words about Guy. They were the perfect eulogy.

Guy and I had a beautiful daughter, Katie in 1976. She has asked me to share with her memories of her dad. I realized that his Oberlin friends could help me with this. I will be bringing a memory book with me to the reunion. I am hoping some of his friends would be willing to write a brief memory of Guy to be shared with our daughter. Katie was the center of Guy's life until the day he died. It would mean a lot for you to share your memories of him with her.
