In Memory

Lynne Ransom

Lynne Ransom passed away on December 14, 2018, after a nearly 14-year battle with breast cancer.

Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Martinsville, Indiana, Lyn was a music major at Oberlin.  In 1987 she received a doctorate in conducting from the University of Cincinnati.  That same year she founded the non-profit Voices Chorale in Princeton, New Jersey.

Diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2005, Lyn’s creative response was key to her ongoing recovery: she began composing “Cancer Coping Songs.”  After three decades as the Voices Chorale artistic director, Lyn celebrated her retirement by conducting the Chorale and full orchestra in Johannes Brahms’ “A German Requiem.”
