David Wilkinson, a flute player who enrolled in the fall of 1965, is recalled by Paul Recher. After a couple of years at Oberlin, David returned to the San Francisco Bay Area. When he passed away in 2008, the San Francisco Chronicle published an obituary.

Never really knew David. He at Barrows, me at Burton. Bumped into him for casual conversation now and then. Always felt he carried either a crippling heaviness or an inexpressible joy deep inside. The obit knits the pieces together after all these years. Appreciate your sharing it, Paul.
