Charles L. Eastman passed away from a heart attack in Florida on January 31, 2002.  Memorial services were held at the Coral Gables Congregational Church and at The Church By The Sea in Bal Harbour.  Rev. Eastman is survived by his son Rev. Brian Eastman, Pastor at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Beaver, Ohio.

“Chuck was a great friend through all my four years at Oberlin. We were roommates and RAs together in Burton during our sophomore year. We both moved to Cambridge together for graduate school at Harvard. Chuck went on to have a fruitful career as a UUC minister in Florida.
